'Eulamere' is an imposing residence built for Frederick Watson circa 1910. The house was designed by prominent architect Alexander Brown Wilson, whose domestic designs also include ‘Kinauld’ (1888), ‘Leckhampton’ (c.1889), ‘Como’ (1889-90) and ‘Home’ (c.1902). Watson, managing director of the Hall-Gibbs Mercantile Agency, lived in the house with his wife Effie, who was the daughter of a Surat grazier, and their three children. In the mid-1930s, Eulamere was leased to tenants and then sold in 1946. This large high-set home features a corrugated iron hip roof, large verandahs and a gabled front room with timber battening and casement windows, and is demonstrative of the early twentieth century growth of Mowbray Terrace as a desirable residential address.
