Bell’s Farm is one of the earliest farms in the Kholo area and was a local landmark for many years prior to the closer settlement and residential subdivisions of the 1970s and 1980s. Owned by the family of George Bell from 1880-2003, the 92-acre property was frequently used as a picnic and camping site by local people by arrangement with the owners. The farmhouse is a circa 1890 timber building with a corrugated galvanised iron roof. It is prominent in the landscape, particularly with its large stands of trees and white painted fence. The house, with its fence and mature trees, makes an aesthetic contribution to the landscape and is a rare surviving farmhouse of the 1890s, in an area that is now more closely settled. The property is associated with the development of the Kholo/Mt Crosby area and with its community.
