This set of masonry shops and first floor residence were built in 1956 for Silvestro and Maria Romano who established their business on the site. The construction of the building followed the extension of the tram line in 1951 which consequently generated commercial activity on this part of Logan Road. The Romano family resided in the upstairs residence for many years. The 1950s building makes a strong contribution to the commercial streetscape on this part of Logan Road.
