These timber shops and residence were likely built around 1914 and housed Albert Wood's grocery store. They have remained in use and today are likely to be the oldest surviving timber shops in Sherwood.

History
Post Office Directories show that Albert Wood had a grocery store here from 1914. Wood was not the owner of the site however - he did not acquire the land until 1918, when he also purchased the adjacent 16 perch block. Wood operated the store for eleven years, until his death in 1925.
On Wood's death the property passed to the Public Curator of Queensland, before being sold to William and Mary McNamee. The shops remained in operation and are presently in use as an antique store. It appears to be the oldest surviving timber-built shop and residence in Sherwood.
