This house was built circa 1905-09 for farmer Franz (Frank) Gohdes. Gohdes' father, German emigrant Ferdinand Gohdes, had owned the land from 1881. Franz acquired it in 1887 and lived there until his death in 1937. It was transferred to Alfred Gohdes, a carpenter and presumably a family member, who held the property until 1950.
