The Pamphlett Memorial is a metal plaque on a large rock located on 245 Tingal Road, Wynnum, in the garden of the Shire Clerk’s Cottage, near Wynnum’s commercial area.
The memorial references three ticket-of-leave convicts credited with showing Oxley what is now the Brisbane River. The memorial was installed by the Wynnum Manly and Districts Historical Society in conjunction with Brisbane City Council and was officially opened by Lord Mayor Jim Soorley on 6 June 1993. The choice of location was made as Tingal Road is believed to follow the approximate line that the three ex-convicts traversed through the area.
