History
Under the Auspices of the Wynnum and Manly Baptist Church a new church was erected at Lindum. After the initial stump-capping ceremony had been held on 4 October 1919, the Lindum Baptist Church was opened on 25 January 1920. The Baptist Association had provided a loan for the church for the amount of £200.
Evidence indicates that material for the church came from "a building, which was originally a livery stable of one of the finer homes", which was purchased from Teneriffe. Further additions to the church were required due to the "rapid re-growth of the Sunday school", and were undertaken in 1955 and 1969 respectively.
Further evidence suggests that the church was a focal point of the Lindum community, regardless of an individual's denomination.
Description
This is small simple wooden church constructed during the early interwar period of recycled materials. The church has Gothic style windows. Later additions to the church include; Sunday School Room, converting the rear of the church into two storeys and the construction of a covered front entrance.
