‘Killarney’ or ‘Cranston’ was built circa 1887 for property investor Patrick Walsh Crowe. Crowe purchased several blocks of land in the Killarney Estate in the 1880s and had rental houses constructed, including this one and a similar house at 5 Dublin Street. The property passed to Father Peter Capra in 1889 and then to its first owner-occupier, Henry Craig, in 1912. It was converted to flats in the 1950s but has since reverted to become a single unit dwelling.
