‘Wyeverne’ is one of three virtually identical houses built around 1900 for James and Agnes Scott, two of which remain standing. The houses were possibly designed by Hall and Dods, who ran an influential and productive architectural practice in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The first occupant of this house was Mrs Kerkin, who named it ‘Wyeverne’. Residents regularly changed over the following years, with the property continuing to be rented, before the house was sold in 1937. In the 1980s the house was converted to an office. This timber former residence features a hipped corrugated iron roof, a hooded bay window and an enclosed verandah, and is an example of the appeal of Bowen Hills for residents and investors in the early twentieth century.
