This tapering sandstone retaining wall and two sets of steps effect a change in level between Jordan Terrace and properties on its northern side. They were possibly constructed in the late 1920s, when a number of civic improvements were undertaken in Jordan Terrace. The wall comprises quarry face sandstone blocks surmounted by a simple painted timber post and rail fence. The larger stairway at the high end of the wall appears to have been cropped by a truncation of the corner of Jordan Terrace and Cintra Road. A smaller stairway forms a gap in the retaining wall towards its lower end. This dressed sandstone retaining wall and steps provides an important contribution to the streetscape. A simple timber fence, several shrubs and a poinciana tree add to the contribution of the wall.
