This timber hitching post and seat is associated with Salm’s Mount Bruce Butcher shop. Carl Salm established the business in 1914 in premises on Stanley Street. In 1930 he moved his business to the current site. The timber hitching post and seat are evidence of the Camp Hill’s commercial growth as the area’s population increased.
