This house was built for John and Rose Lynn, and occupied by them in 1936. John and his brother Frank operated the bus company known as Lynn Brothers. They contracted to Brisbane City Council and other local authorities to run services into areas usually not serviced by trams. John Lynn was also a committee member of the ‘Motor Bus Proprietors Association’, an organisation that ‘actively interested itself in all matters affecting bus transportation.’The Lynns resided at this address until 1947.The design of this property is very similar to one in Hipwood Rd, Hamilton designed by Eric Trewern.
