This property appears to have been built for commission agent Charles White as a speculative venture. White acquired title to the property in March 1888. While the precise date of construction is not known, one of the earliest lessees was merchant and importer, John W Randall. Randall was living at Eagle Junction from as early as 1892, and confirmed as a resident of Gregory Street around 1895 and shortly after that his residence is recorded with the name “Elveden.” A rental property through to WWII the house was converted into two flats in 1952. It has since been returned to a single dwelling.
