Clyde Richmond Bryant, a baker, formerly of Bryants’ Hygienic Bakery, acquired title to this property in March 1938. He applied to Brisbane City Council for the erection of a shop and dwelling on the property which were completed by the end of that year. The building was designed by Brisbane architect George Rae. Bryant retained ownership until 1965 after which the property has had many owners and business occupants.
