Clyde Richmond Bryant, a baker, formerly of Bryants’ Hygienic Bakery, acquired title to this property in March 1938. He had made application to Brisbane City Council for the erection of a shop and dwelling on the property which were apparently completed by the end of that year. Both the shop and this apartment building were designed by Brisbane architect George Rae, and built by Concrete Construction Pty Ltd. Bryant retained ownership until 1965 after which the property has had many owners and business occupants.
