This small brick residence was constructed around the late 1860s for butcher James Fallon. Fallon had purchased an allotment on Short Street (as Bromley Street was known) in 1865 and was residing in the house by 1874. The Fallon family continued to own the house until 1935. The house demonstrates the existence of the brick making industry in Kangaroo Point in the mid to late nineteenth century, and is a rare surviving example of this type of dwelling in Brisbane.
