‘Fingal’ was built in 1918 and designed by architect Lange Powell (Chambers & Powell). The owner was Alfred Huybers, managing director of the Queensland Pastoral Supplies Co Ltd. An early reference to ‘Fingal’ in 1919 reported the sudden death of Mrs Alfred Huybers at her Moreton Street home following the birth of a daughter. In 1921 ownership of the property passed to the infant daughter, Ivy Huybers, who owned it until her death in 1966.Part of this timber and stucco Californian Bungalow was converted to flats in the 1950s by the Huybers family. The dwelling is now part of the adjacent, short-stay ‘Allender Court’ apartment complex.
